Disclaimer

Organizers are not responsible for injuries to players or individuals, loss or damage of property that occurs during this tournament. It is every team?s responsibility to make sure that all players are aware of rules, regulations and responsibilities.

Tournament Rules:

  • ICC 20-20 Law's of cricket (except as mentioned below) apply to this tournament
    • Each match will be 20 overs per inning, winning team gets 2 points and losing team gets 0.
    • Maximum 4 overs per bowler.
    • Maximum of 2 fielders outside 30 yards from batting crease in first 6 overs.
    • Maximum of 5 fielders outside 30 yards from batting crease for rest of the innings.
    • Maximum of 6 fielders on the on/leg side at any point of time.
    • Any foot fault NO-Ball shall be followed by a free-hit ball. If striker has not changed then field setting can not be changed for a free-hit. Only way to get out on a free hit is run-out.
    • WIDE BALL ? Every delivery that passes the batsman behind his legs and misses leg stump shall be called WIDE BALL. For off side wide balls a white marking will be added to batting crease 24 inches from off stump. Every delivery that is out side this marking shall be called WIDE.
    • No substitute runner will be allowed, under any circumstances.
    • In case of on field illness (which includes dehydration, cramps, etc) batsman will be allowed to retire. Such batsman will be called retired hurt. Retired hurt batsman can come back only at the end of the innings, after all other batsmen are out. In case of retired hurt because of any on field injury, ICC rules will be followed, which allows the batsman to return after any wicket is down..
    • For the team fielding first, if a substitute fielder is used for a player who has not been part of the fielding for any ball since the beginning of the innings then such fielder can bat only after 5 wickets are down. This is a ICC rule. Injury or illness will not be considered for this rule, as it is at the start of the game.
    • In case of a tie match or rained out playoffs match, result will be decided by a super over. In case of cancled league match, supeover will be played is both the teams are available to play a superover otherwise each team gets 1 point each.

  Super Over Rules:

  • Each team will list 3 players in order to bat at the start of the super over.
  • Team batting 2nd in regulation will bat first in super over.
  • Bowling team will have 5 minutes to bowl super over.
  • If two of the batsman get out before end of the over that will conclude the Super over for that team.
  • Minimum of 4 fielders inside 30 yards circle for complete over.
  • Winner will be decided by most runs scores.
  • If teams are tied after first suer over then teams hitting most 6s in regulation and super over will WIN. If teams are still tied then team hitting most 4 in regulation and super over will WIN.
  • If a match is still tied after all this each team will get 1 point.

Ranking:

  • All ranking will be done based on points and then NRR.
  • For the format of the championship, look at the format document.

Umpiring:

  • Up to two Neutral umpires will officiate every match. Square leg umpire?s responsibility includes watching field restrictions. If any fielder is in violation of field restrictions then square leg umpire will call NO-BALL. BOTH Umpires will submit a report on scores/result and any issues regarding conduct to the organizers, after every match.

Team/Captain's Responsibilities:

  • Every team will be responsible for preparing the grounnd and picking up the equipments on alternate basis. Tucson teams (WLD,TCC) always pickup mat after the game. Non Tucson teams will prepare the ground when playing Tucson team. For games with two local teams, team whose name appears first will be the home team and will be responsible for preparing the ground and other team will pickup the equipments.
  • Every team has to submit a list of players (no limit on number)   with its Captain and Manager for communication, before their first match. Once you play for one team you can't play for any other team in this tournament.
  • To be eligible to play in the playoffs and the qualifier round, a player has to be part of the playing 11, for at least one league game
  • Captains are responsible for informing their teammates about rules and regulation.
  • Organizers reserve the right to decide on disputes and take disciplinary action.
  • Dress code is white/same color trousers and color (except white) shirts. Please make sure shirts are of same color, (no different shades of same color) for all 11 players.  No white tops will be allowed.
  • All proper cricketing gear and protection, including helmets and abdominal guards must be worn while playing. No exception.
  • Organizers are not responsible for any physical injuries to individuals that occur during these games. Organizers are not responsible for any loss, theft or damages to cricket gears, personal belongings or property.
  • Every player has to sign a waiver and submit it to the organizer's representatives at the ground. It is captain?s responsibility to collect such waivers. Without signed waivers, players will not be allowed to participate in the game

 Timings and Over rate:

  • Toss at 6:25 PM  
  • First inning will start at 6.40PM to 8.10 PM. After a 10 minutes break, second Inning will start at 8.20 PM to 9.50PM.
  • Penalty of one over per 4 minutes wasted for any of the following reasons.
    • Team showing up late.
    • Team not getting the ground ready for play in time. (As mentioned in the Schedule )
    • Team not finishing 20 overs in stipulated time.
  • For batting team the next batsman has to walk in as soon as a wicket falls. Batsman can be given Timed out if he not ready to face the ball with in 90 seconds from the time of last wicket fall   
  • If a team bowling first is penalized for N number of overs then they will bat for 20 minus N number of overs. Target will not change.
  • If the start is delayed because of team A and team A bats first, they will bat only 20 minus Penalty overs and the other team gets full 20 overs.
  • In case of both teams showing up late, the match will be reduced to 20 - (calculating the lost number of overs / 2) per inning.
  • Apart from above mentioned penalties, captain of the team(s) causing the delay in start or delay in finishing the overs will be suspended for one game.    
  •  If Team bowling second doesn't finish the overs by the stipulated time, and the lights go off, the team bowling second loses the game (unless the umpire decides otherwise depending upon time wasted by team batting second). In case we are able to extend the lights team responsible for delay will be penalized in term of money. Fines will be decide by organizers and are payable before the start of next match.

Rosters and Team Compositions

  • Every team has to submit a list of players before the tournament starts.
  • Each player can play for only one team.
  • To be eligible to play for a team in playoffs player must have played at least one game for that team in the previous games.

Scoring and score submitting

  • Every team has to record score of their batting innings and opposition's bowling.
  • Every team has to submit their scoresheet no later than the end of Tuesday following the game. The scoresheet has to be complete, where batting runs and wickets has to match bowing runs and wickets. If website for entering the scoresheet is down then you can submit the scoresheet in a prescribed excel file.
  • Failure to submit scoresheet in first round will result in suspension of the captain for one game and will remain suspended till the scoresheet is submitted. Failure to submit scoresheet in playoffs will result in monetary fines.

Every team will play minimum of 6 games in this tournament.

Entry fee is non-refundable.

Umpiring and Scores

  • Every Every team will pay $25 per game to each of the umpires, maximum of two umpires. If there is only one umpire theh each team will pay $13 to the umpire.
  • Team's not paying will not be able to play further in the tournament till all dues are paid. Games missed due to non-payment of umpiring dues will be counted as forfeits.

Medical Insurance :

  • Every player has to sign a waiver and submit it to the organizer's representatives at the ground. It is captain’s responsibility to collect such waivers. Without signed waivers, players will not be allowed to participate in the game. (This is necessary to keep our insurance premium low)

Spirit of the game and Discipline:

Our goal is to play competitive cricket in a very friendly atmosphere. Every player playing in this tournament shall show respect to umpires and other players. Below are some examples of actions that are against the spirit of the game and will be considered for disciplinary actions. Every violation will result in disciplinary actions by disciplinary committee. Disciplinary committee will include the on field umpire organizers of this tournament
  • Showing dissent to umpires verbally or by action. If you show your disagreement to any of the umpires decision that counts as dissent
  • Using foul language on the ground
  • Verbal Abuse of opposition players or umpires. ( e.g. Taunting )
  • Deliberately Wasting time while batting or bowling
  • Failing to follow umpires instructions or orders
  • Not leaving field in time after getting out
  • Deliberate physical aggression or act to intimidate others
  • Not laying or picking up the Mat and other equipment
  • Using foul language towards an umpire or player
  • Abusing ground and or equipment
  • Physical abuse of umpire, players
Fines aFines and Penalties will be decided by the disciplinary committee. Every disciplinary violation can result in fines and/or suspensions.
